The College of Gynecology does not recommend the COVID 19 vaccine for pregnant women at this time. However, the organization is recommending that each pregnant mom ask her ObGYN doctor or health care provider for her recommendations.
Once you get your first shot, you should not get another vaccine until at least 14 days after getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. There is insufficient data to recommend vaccinating pregnant women. However, there is enough information about risk versus benefit for breastfeeding women, and breastfeeding women should be offered the vaccine.
If you have had COVID-19, you are still at risk for COVID-19 and the variants of concern. Some experts are recommending a three to six month waiting period between the COVID-19 infection and vaccination. However, no one seems to know if this is practical or if it’s best for you to get the vaccine as soon as possible.
